Welcome
Remember when you were in school and there were 2-3 students that appeared to be struggling? They were labeled underachiever, not applying yourself, or lazy.
Despite the fact that 10-15% of all children in every region, of every economic background and gender is dyslexic, these children due to their high intelligence appear too smart to receive IEPs, and are allowed to struggle at just below grade level or get attention only when they fail for basic reading and math. These fundamentals prevent dyslexic children from reaching their potential in later grades and impacts their entire life’s trajectory.
What happens to these kids? They either make it or they can fail drastically. Studies show 35% of successful CEOs are dyslexic1, however studies also show 50% of the prison population is also dyslexic2. Even for those that make it, they still suffer greatly while finding their own way. I was one of those kids. I made it, but the struggles though my childhood, being labeled as an underachiever deeply impacted my outlook. I am now reliving all the anxiety and bullying of peers and teachers through the eyes of my dyslexic child.
Solutions for my daughter were not at all easy to find. I was able to eventually get her the resources she needed, but I began to wonder what happens to the other 10-15% of the children just like her? I decided to set-up a sustainable and scalable program for dyslexic children.
